Red Lens delivers part-time actor training designed to nurture talent and equip performers with the tools, resilience and confidence needed to thrive in the creative industries.
Our signature Actors G.Y.M (Get. Your. Motivation) sessions treat performance training like a workout for the actor’s craft , developing emotional range, physical awareness, improvisation skills and strong stage and on-camera presence.
We are looking for passionate Acting Coaches, drama facilitators and creative practitioners to join our growing network of collaborators. This opportunity is ideal for experienced performers who enjoy sharing their craft, supporting emerging talent and creating dynamic, supportive learning environments.
Successful facilitators will bring a strong background in stage and/or screen acting, movement or performance training, along with the ability to inspire participants at different stages of their creative journey. You will help design and deliver engaging sessions that encourage actors to explore their potential, take creative risks and strengthen their performance skills.

Job Description
Job Title: Acting Class Coach
Location: West Midlands

Key Responsibilities
Class Preparation & Delivery
Plan and deliver engaging Actors G.Y.M training sessions, incorporating physical warm-ups, improvisation, text work and performance exercises designed to strengthen actors’ skills and creative confidence.
Participant Engagement
Create a safe, encouraging and dynamic learning environment where actors feel supported to explore their craft, take creative risks and grow in confidence.
Individual Coaching
Offer constructive and personalised feedback to help participants refine their performance, develop their technique and progress in their acting journey.
Professional Development
Maintain an active awareness of current acting methodologies, rehearsal practices and industry expectations, integrating relevant approaches into training sessions.
Administration
Support the smooth running of sessions by maintaining attendance records, managing class communication and liaising with the Red Lens team when required.
Safety & Well-being
Ensure the well-being and physical safety of participants during sessions, following studio policies and best practice for movement-based training.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Training
A degree or professional training in Acting, Theatre, Performing Arts or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in acting, performance or creative practice
- At least 1 year experience facilitating workshops, teaching acting, directing, or coaching performers
Skills
- Strong understanding of acting techniques, movement for actors, and stage or screen performance
- Ability to guide performers with clarity, empathy and constructive feedback
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Additional
First Aid or safeguarding training is beneficial but not essential.

General Information
Contract: Freelance (Public Liability Insurance will be required - we can recommend a broker)
Rate: £20–£25 per hour (to be invoiced and paid monthly)
Working Hours:
Actors G.Y.M sessions are typically delivered weekday evenings between 6pm–10pm, with occasional additional hours required for planning and development where necessary.
Training:
Induction and training in the Red Lens approach will be provided where required.
